GirlsGotThis

In a vibrant showcase of talent, resilience, and sportsmanship, FundLife successfully hosted the Mini Champions League (MCL) Tournament, gathering 57 young players from partner schools on November 9, 2024 at the Generation Amazing Community Club.

This event celebrated the achievements of top-performing children from FundLife partner schools and provided a platform for them to showcase their individual strengths and successes. The tournament also aimed to inspire young athletes to excel and strive for excellence, not just in sports, but in all their endeavors. Throughout the day, players engaged in both game challenges and futsal matches, with each event crafted to highlight their skills, foster teamwork, and encourage a competitive spirit grounded in respect and camaraderie.

The tournament opened with a series of exciting game challenges, which highlighted the players' technical skills, agility, and determination. Divided into boys' and girls' categories, each team competed in four unique challenges: the Cross Bar, Dribbling Relay, Shootout, and Ball Control challenges. In the boys’ category, Team Dreamers clinched the champion title, showcasing individual and collective strengths, while Team Phoenix and Team Apple Puff took second and third place. For the girls, Team Crow emerged as champions, followed by Team Da Girls in second and Team Shalla in third, with each team’s accomplishments serving as a testament to their dedication and hard work.

The event brought additional excitement with the futsal matches, where players demonstrated their talent and commitment in a double-elimination format. The boys’ futsal champion title went to Team Dreamers, who displayed remarkable coordination and strategic play, with Team Phoenix and Team Apple Puff securing first and second runner-up spots. In the girls’ matches, Team Da Girls took the championship, followed by Team Java Jivers and Team Crow. Each match underscored the players' resilience, a value that FundLife seeks to instill in its participants.

The event concluded with an awarding ceremony that recognized the top teams and individual talents who excelled throughout the day. Beyond the trophies and medals, participants received jerseys and FundLife-branded sling bags, a small but meaningful recognition of their dedication, hard work, and drive. The tournament successfully highlighted the individual strengths and talents of each participant, reinforcing values of perseverance and commitment that extend beyond the field.

FundLife remains dedicated to empowering youth through sports, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring young people to excel in all aspects of life. The Mini Champions League stands as a testament to FundLife’s mission, bringing communities together and inspiring the next generation of champions in Tacloban City.
